Hi, welcome.
If you are here, it is truly an honor. At almost 40 years old (in a few years, anyway) I am finally allowing myself to step fully into the artist and photographer space. For a long time I kept that part of myself quiet, mostly thanks to a heavy dose of imposter syndrome. Turns out the only way through that is to start anyway. So here I am.

For me, photography has always been about storytelling. My story actually began in the second grade when my mom helped me enter a PTA art competition. I took a picture of the lake at our local park, showing the reflection of the fall leaves rippling across the placid lake - and, I won. The spark was ignited. This photo sits in my office as a reminder to keep chasing the things that make you feel alive.
Most of my work is in black and white so that the image is stripped down to what really matters. Angles. Lines. Structure. Light. The tension between shadow and space. Without color competing for attention, the story becomes clearer and the details speak louder.
Parallax.
I am drawn to architecture, historic places, and the quiet moments that most people walk past without noticing. A worn facade. The geometry of a stairwell. A corner of a building catching the light just right. The contradictions and the juxtapositions. Those are the moments that hold the real character of a place and moment.
I currently live in Richmond, Virginia with my husband and our daughter, Sunday, my tiny apprentice. She's already learning that sometimes the best stories are the ones you stop long enough to see.
